Can I be a member if I'm a Republican, Democrat, or Independent?

Yes! We welcome residents from all political perspectives.

Can I be a member if I live in Riverside, on the West side of First Avenue?

Yes! We welcome residents from all areas of Riverside.

Can I be a member if I'm a resident of Brookfield or Berwyn?

No. In order to be a member of the Riverside Community Caucus, one must be a resident of Riverside.

Is the $25.00 annual membership fee per person or per household?

The $25.00 annual membership dues are per person.

What are the benefits of being a member of the Riverside Community Caucus?

Becoming a member of the Riverside Community Caucus is a great way to get involved with the community and have a meaningful impact on the elected offices of Village Trustee & President.

Can I become a member the day before the Riverside Community Caucus votes on which candidates to end

No. In order to be eligible to vote for which candidates the Riverside Community Caucus endorses, a member must have joined the Caucus at least one year prior to the next Consolidated election. *Please note this may not be applicable for the 2019-2020 calendar years. Contact us for details.

Can I be a member, even if I'm not a registered voter?

No. The Riverside Community Caucus is comprised of registered voters who reside in Riverside. We encourage everyone to register so you can have a voice in local, state, and national elections. Please visit our VOTE!  page for more information on all the ways you can register to vote today.

Is the Caucus a Non-Partisan group?

Yes! Although our membership is comprised of residents from different political affiliations, with varying political perspectives, the Caucus itself is non-partisan. The Riverside Community Caucus does not endorse any candidate based upon political party affiliation.

What is the Caucus's role after candidates are endorsed?

Once candidates are endorsed, the candidates are free to coordinate a slate or run independently. The Riverside Community Caucus has no influence over their campaign or their role as an elected village officer.

When is the next election?

Riverside's elections for Village Trustees are held in April on odd numbers years. Previous elections were in 2019, 2017, 2015, 2013, and so on.

What if I'm interested in running for Trustee but the Recruiting committee hasn't asked me?

Although we do our best, we may miss a great candidate. If you have an interest in running for Village of Riverside Trustee or President, please let us know.
